Gcore Vapes Explained: The Sync 80K and the Rest of the Range

Gcore covers a lot of ground: a pod system, a set of high-capacity disposables, and one of the deepest e-liquid lines we stock. The piece most people ask about is the Gcore Sync 80K, which is also the most popular Gcore product we sell, so we’ll start there and then walk through the rest of the range.

The Gcore Sync 80K, explained

The Sync is two parts that work together:

  • The Sync 80K Pod – a pre-filled closed pod with 20mL of 20mg salt nicotine, rated for up to 80,000 puffs. It has its own small 200mAh battery built in.
  • The Sync Battery – a 1000mAh USB-C battery that the pod attaches to magnetically. It recharges the pod, and it adds a curved screen, a puff-percentage readout and two modes, Boost and Normal.

That built-in pod battery is what makes the Sync different from most pod systems. With the pod on the battery, you get the screen, the modes and the bigger battery behind it. Take a charged pod off and it runs on its own for about a day, so you can carry just the pod. When it runs down, put it back on the battery to top it up.

Getting started

  1. Charge the Sync Battery over USB-C.
  2. Attach a pod. It snaps on magnetically.
  3. Pick Boost or Normal. Start on Normal – more on why below.
  4. Watch the puff percentage on the screen. When it gets low, swap in a fresh pod and keep the battery.

You buy the battery once and only replace pods after that. Pod flavours and availability vary by province, and the pod page shows what’s stocked for yours.

Gcore disposables at a glance

Gcore’s all-in-one disposables mostly share a format – 20mL of 20mg salt nicotine on a USB-C rechargeable battery – with two exceptions on strength.

Model E-liquid Nicotine Battery Modes and display
Gcore G 80K 20mL 20mg salt 850mAh, USB-C Boost and Normal on a slider; battery and puff-count display
Gcore YUNIQ 20mL 20mg salt 1000mAh, USB-C Normal and Boost; screen inside a clear tank
Gcore Hookah 40K 20mL 5mg freebase 1300mAh, USB-C Battery and e-liquid indicators
Gcore Prime 15000 10mL 0mg 1700mAh, not rechargeable Draw-activated; adjustable airflow

The YUNIQ ships locked

If your new YUNIQ won’t fire, it isn’t faulty – it’s locked for transit. Gcore Canada’s setup steps:

  1. Read the setup sticker on the device, then peel it off completely.
  2. Press the activation button on the base until it sits flush with the surface. If it’s still sticking out, the device isn’t active yet.
  3. Slide the airflow control to set your draw – tighter for a firmer pull, wider for more vapour.

Still nothing after step 2? Charge it with a USB-C cable and try again.

The two lower-strength options

The Hookah 40K is 5mg freebase nicotine, a quarter of the 20mg salt nic most disposables carry, with shisha-style flavours and the biggest battery of the rechargeable Gcore disposables. The Prime 15000 is nicotine-free. Its 1700mAh battery isn’t rechargeable, so the device is done when either the battery or the 10mL of e-liquid runs out.

Boost or Normal?

A mode sets how much power goes to the coil. More power heats the coil more, which vaporises more e-liquid per puff and drains the battery faster. Gcore’s own ratings for the YUNIQ show the trade-off: up to 80,000 puffs on Normal, up to 60,000 on Boost – a quarter fewer from the same 20mL. If you want the most out of a device, stay on Normal and use Boost when you want it. (For the physics, see The Electricity Behind Your Vape.)

Gcore e-liquid: which bottle?

This is the deepest part of the range. One flavour line comes in salt nic and freebase, across several sizes and strengths:

Line Nicotine Sizes VG/PG Use it in
Salt nic – Regular (fruit, tropical, tobacco) 10mg or 20mg 30mL, 60mL 50/50 Refillable MTL pods and pod-mods
Salt nic – Ice (iced, frozen, menthol) 10mg or 20mg 30mL, 60mL 50/50 Refillable MTL pods and pod-mods
Freebase 3mg or 6mg 30mL, 60mL, 100mL 70/30 Sub-ohm, direct-lung and higher-airflow tanks
Nicotine-free 0mg 30mL 70/30 Sub-ohm or MTL tanks

Three things that make choosing easier:

  • Match the juice to the device first. Salt nic at 10-20mg is made for low-power refillable pods. Freebase at 3-6mg with more VG is made for higher-power tanks. Our guide to salt nic vs freebase covers why.
  • Regular or Ice. The salt nic is split by profile, so you can shop the iced flavours or the non-iced ones without wading through both. The 30mL 10mg bottle is the exception and carries both in one listing.
  • Size up once you’ve found a flavour. The 60mL and 100mL bottles cost less per mL than the 30mL, and most flavours carry across sizes.

Charging and battery care

  • The Sync Battery and the rechargeable Gcore disposables all charge over USB-C. Use a regular cable, don’t leave it charging unattended or overnight, and unplug it once it shows full.
  • Lithium-ion batteries shouldn’t be charged below 0°C. If a device has been in the car or an outside pocket in winter, let it warm up to room temperature before you plug it in.
  • If a device gets hot while charging, swells, or the case cracks, unplug it and stop using it.

Health Canada’s vaping safety advice covers the same ground: follow the manufacturer’s charging instructions and stop once the recommended time is up.

Where RufPuf fits

RufPuf, the brand behind the Ripper line, comes from the same company as Gcore. If you like Gcore, the Ripper disposables and the Ripper X pod system are worth a look – they have their own page: Ripper by RufPuf.

Gcore FAQ

How does the Gcore Sync work?
The Sync 80K pod has its own 200mAh battery and attaches magnetically to the 1000mAh Gcore Sync Battery, which recharges it and adds a screen, a puff-percentage readout and Boost and Normal modes. A charged pod also runs on its own for about a day.

Do I need the Sync Battery to use Sync pods?
You need it to recharge them. A charged pod can run on its own for about a day, but it tops up from the Sync Battery, and the screen and modes are on the battery.

Why won’t my Gcore YUNIQ fire?
The YUNIQ ships locked. Read and peel off the setup sticker, press the activation button on the base until it sits flush, then adjust the airflow. If it still won’t fire, charge it with a USB-C cable and try again.

Does Boost mode use more e-liquid?
Yes. Gcore rates the YUNIQ for up to 80,000 puffs on Normal and up to 60,000 on Boost from the same 20mL.

What strengths does Gcore e-liquid come in?
Salt nic comes in 10mg and 20mg, freebase in 3mg and 6mg, and there’s a 0mg nicotine-free version. Strengths and flavours vary by province.

Is the Gcore Prime 15000 rechargeable?
No. Its 1700mAh battery isn’t rechargeable, so the device is done when either the battery or its 10mL of nicotine-free e-liquid runs out.
