The Vaping Tax Cloud Expands
Vapers, get ready for some changes at the checkout. Starting April 1 2025, vaping is getting more expensive in five Canadian provinces:
New Brunswick
Manitoba
Prince Edward Island
Alberta
Yukon
These provinces are joining a federal program that adds an extra tax specifically on vaping products. This means that on top of the regular federal vaping tax, you'll now see a provincial tax added to your vaping purchases.
Understanding the New Tax
Below you'll find a table that visually shows the drastic tax increases that are about to take effect in the previously mentioned provinces. Ontario, Quebec, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut are already collecting the additional harmonized tax and should not be affected by the upcoming changes
